Your role: 

As the GMCA moves into its next phase we are looking for an agile governance and scrutiny officer to join our leading team, providing robust governance processes that support the organisation to deliver for residents of Greater Manchester.

With effective governance as a key enabler for collaboration, our team provides a central function for creating decision pathways and opportunities for key stakeholders to come together in enabling spaces.

About you: 

We are looking for an experienced governance officer who brings with them a wealth of knowledge from a career in governance, public administration or related field.  This role includes the support of high-level statutory meetings, the coordination of agendas, production of minutes, overseeing the delivery of actions and providing procedural advice.

A sound knowledge of local government structures and processes, in addition to the role of the GMCA, is essential for this role as you will be required to look for ways to enhance the role of governance across the organisation and with partner organisations.

You will be required to build strong a collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders in addition to elected members that foster the ability to collectively deliver the ambitions of the Greater Manchester Strategy.

This role will provide you the opportunity to conduct research and evaluate intelligence, alongside ensuring that our governance processes are compliant and in line with legislation.

You will be highly organised, have good attention to detail, be politically astute and have strong communication skills that can be adapted across audiences.
