Residential Childcare Worker
Grade: 3A+2 £32,076 - £34, 834
Working Hours: 36 hour post including weekends, evenings and
sleep-ins and NightCare’s to meet service needs on a rota basis

We have an exciting opportunity for Residential Child Care Workers to join our Residential
Service. We are looking for people who really want to make a difference. We have 5
Children’s Homes and you will be joining supportive and experienced staff teams, working a
shift system which involves sleep in duties and weekend working along with some waking
night shifts. You will need to be able to work with young people who can present with
complex and challenging behaviours and focus on improving their outcomes. You will help
the young people and their families / carers rebuild relationships, increase their
achievements, reduce their risks and build on their strengths. You will encourage and
support young people to make steady progress and achieve their full potential to ensure the
best outcomes for them.
You may have previous relevant experience of working with young people and families or
have worked in a residential setting. However, we are also looking for people who have the
enthusiasm and passion to work with young people and in return we can offer you a
comprehensive induction and training package. A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
will be offered as an apprenticeship and you will be supported throughout your training and
will be afforded 20 % off the job training to gain the necessary skills, knowledge and
experience to fulfil the role.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and
that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check – currently £44.00. The payment
for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £11.00
per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been
processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £44.00. You will then be required
to join the DBS Update service, which will be at a cost of £13 per year.
