We are very excited to be transforming Rochdale’s Children’s Social Care Service to meet the principles and direction of the Josh McAllister Independent Review of Children’s Social care. Relational practice underpins our work and we are committed to developing your social work skills and knowledge.
You will be working at the forefront of best practice as we realign our services to meet demand and embrace new models of working. We have already successfully established the No Wrong Door model for vulnerable adolescents and are keen to develop true multi-disciplinary working as part of the planned alignment. An exciting opportunity has arisen here at Rochdale Children’s Services to join the
EHASH (Early Help and Safeguarding Hub)/ Duty and assessment or Family Support and Protection Service.
For many years we have been leading the way with our innovative service delivery and reform. Strengthening families and improving outcomes is at the heart of what we do.
Our social work model is relationship based practice as we believe trusting relationships are essential to improving children’s lives. You will be working in an environment where professionals from every agency share information, expertise and work together to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children and young people in the borough.
We have organised our service to follow a child’s journey and this includes having an effective early help and safeguarding hub at the point of entry, first response teams, dedicated court and child protection teams as well as an integrated cared for children service.
Our service offers intensive support and interventions which make a difference to the children and young people we work with, strengthening families and improving outcomes.

We’re big on relationships and relational practice and we’re being recognised nationally for this. We believe trusting, positive relationships are essential to supporting staff and improving the lives of children and families. That is then put into practice with our hardworking and committed staff. We work together, support each other, provide development opportunities and offer real career pathways.
We are making positive progress in terms of our ways to work with children, young people and families to achieve better outcomes for all. We are empathetic in our work and listen to our families; building on their strengths and work towards agreed goals.
We create SMART plans with our families to ensure goals are achievable, focussed and realistic whilst being specific to each individual child, young person and family.
We are passionate to ensure we offer services that are:

· manage the risk for the child, not the organisation,
· leading a shared approach to parenting
· persistent in making sure every child has someone who will stand up for them
· attuned to what kind of adult we want to support our children and young people to be at 20 years, 35 years and 50 years old
