New Bridge Multi-Academy Trust is a vibrant, aspirational and inclusive multi-academy trust of six special schools and with two specialist post-16 provisions across Oldham, Tameside and Rochdale. As part of the wider New Bridge Group there are also a two post-19 provisions. All of the children and young people have an EHCP with the settings supporting a wide spectrum of needs from age 4-19 and beyond. A central Human Resources service provides day to day recruitment, transactional and advisory support to the Trust. We now have an extremely exciting opportunity for an experienced human resources professional to join the human resources team in the post of HR Manager.
The HR Manager manages four staff covering the areas of recruitment, transactional and advisory specialisms and leads the operational HR service. The Executive Director HR provides overall support and management.
As the manager of the advisory team, candidates must have experience of providing a professional advisory service, either as an individual and/or team leader. This includes experience of leading and dealing with formal casework e.g. absence, disciplinary, grievance and performance management cases. Candidates must also have an expert knowledge of the pay and terms and conditions for school-based staff, both teaching and non-teaching as the role leads on the issuing of offer letters and contracts of employment and liaison with our in-house payroll service.
Candidates also need experience of the transactional part of an HR service including the full compliance of on-boarding new staff within a school. The safeguarding of children and young people is an absolute paramount duty so this includes experience and knowledge of DBS / Right to work in the UK / teacher barred list etc. checks.
The recruitment of new staff is an all year undertaking to meet the needs of all our settings across the Trust. Ideally candidates will have experience of recruitment and can develop that element of the HR service.
The post is based at our Spring Brook Upper school site on Dean Street in Failsworth although work may need to be undertaken at any of our sites. Therefore, own car is essential.
