Role Overview:

A vacancy has arisen within the Energy—Building Services Team, based at the New Oldham Council Offices at Spindles OL1 1HD, with home working opportunities.

The role will include Energy Portfolio Account Management services, which cover every aspect of utilities, such as electricity, gas, water, and metering, to maintain the utility portfolios for Oldham Council and its clients. The role involves managing and maintaining the TEAM Sigma Energy Management Software database, data auditing, analysis, monitoring, create and deliver energy and financial reports, bill validation, data and metering queries, account administration, such as change of tenancies, statutory reporting and record keeping, to enable continual improvement and progress towards Oldham Council’s sustainability commitments and net zero goals.                                                                                     

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with the Lead Energy Manager and the wider team: Support and enable the implementation of the Council's strategic objectives related to sustainable energy use, account management, and achieving net zero targets.
  • Manage the audit and production of energy data sets: Ensure completeness, identify anomalies, monitor, and support efficient account reconciliation.
  • Support the effective and efficient management of energy accounts: This includes liaising with suppliers and handling billing, queries, siteworks, and other daily activities.
  • Support and enable the delivery of accurate energy-related reports that meet specified requirements.
  • Utilise framework agreements to manage the delivery of services related to energy management: This includes the provision of Energy Performance Certificates (EPC), Display Energy Certificates (DEC), and other services to discharge statutory duties to ensure compliance.

Key Requirements: 

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

  • Experience of using TEAM Sigma Energy Management Software (or other Energy Management Software and databases, Access, Excel, SQL) and dealing with large utility portfolios and data sets.
  • The ability and experience to analyse and interpret data and present it effectively to various audiences to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in your work. You must proactive and be able to work at pace.
