Contract: 24 months Fixed Term

Your role: 

This is an exciting opportunity to support in the refresh of the Greater Manchester International Strategy.

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) Economy & Strategy Teams are seeking to expand their capacity to support key upcoming international developments, including the refresh of the Greater Manchester International Strategy and the implementation of the Trade & Investment text as set out within Greater Manchester’s Trailblazer Devolution Deal.

Working across the Economy and Strategy Teams at the GMCA this role will involve:

  • Supporting the refresh of the Greater Manchester International Strategy.
  • Supporting with the refresh of related trade & investment parts of the Local Industrial Strategy along with the development of sector development plans.
  •  Supporting the implementation & delivery of the Trade & Investment Trailblazer Devolution agreement.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of policies and initiatives emerging from the International Strategy and related parts of the Local Industrial Strategy.
  • Working as part of the international team to provide support with key international trade activity.

About you: 

The person we are looking for will have knowledge of international and economic issues and policy including international trade, exporting and inward investment, as well as an understanding of how this relates to the wider priorities and strategies of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

You will also have excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, accurately and in ways that promote understanding to a range of audiences and organisations.

This will include producing high quality, timely briefings, and correspondence, pulling together complex information from numerous sources. You will also, through personal example, open commitment and clear action, ensure diversity is positively valued, resulting in equal access and treatment in employment, service delivery and communications.
