Your role:

The Communications and Engagement team are looking for an enthusiastic and professional trainer or educator to join its Recycle for Greater Manchester Education Team.

You will be joining the largest waste disposal authority in England to inspire and encourage residents, schools and community groups to reuse, repair and recycle household items to help us reach our ambitious recycling and climate change targets.

Your day-to-day role will be to lead tours around the three Recycle for Greater Manchester visitor centres to a wide range of audiences including schools, higher education groups, community groups, uniform groups, Greater Manchester residents, professionals, and Councillors. We also deliver outreach programmes including face to face sessions, virtual sessions in schools and community groups. and attend events across Greater Manchester. 

About you:

This role would suit someone with education delivery, training, or group leadership experience, you will need to be innovative and adaptable to different audiences and age groups, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.   

You will be passionate about informing and engaging with members of the public. You will have the ability to plan sessions and activities that are engaging and relevant to your audience. You will be comfortable leading group tours around an operating waste facility, ensuring health and safety at all times 

You will be expected to travel across Greater Manchester to the visitor centres and to deliver outreach education sessions with occasional evening and weekend work. Some knowledge of the waste or environmental sector would be beneficial.
