Contract- Permanent 
 
Hours- 37 Hours per week as part of a planned rota, plus regular sleep-in’s (approx 7 per month at the current rate of £40.76 per sleep)
 
Contract- £29,777 - £31,364 per annum
*With the ability to earn an additional £5,000 per annum approximately on top of the basic salary through additional/enhanced payments for working rota’d sleep-in’s, weekend and bank holiday working over a year
 
Blackpool Coastal Housing manages almost 5,000 social housing properties across Blackpool, providing related services to its tenant and leasehold customers and regenerating areas to create opportunities for our local residents to thrive. 
 
Blackpool Coastal Housing has also recently extended its Supported Housing offer within Blackpool to include two supported accommodation homes for young people aged 16 and 17, with the service currently going through the Ofsted registration process.

YOUNG PERSONS RESETTLEMENT OFFICER/SUPPORT WORKER
“Supporting young people in supported accommodation homes”
 
We are looking for a candidate to join our team who shares our passion, enthusiasm and commitment to enhancing the life opportunities of vulnerable young people here in Blackpool, providing staffing cover for our 24-hour supported accommodation home.
 
As a Young Persons Resettlement Officer, you will manage the day to day running of the project and support young people to reach their full potential through inspiring, motivating and positively influencing them to prosper in the community in which they will live. 
 
You will provide support to empower young people to maintain their accommodation and learn a variety of life skills, including cooking and money management to enhance their future prospects. You will encourage our young people into further education, training and employment, to set clear goals and encouraging their participation in meaningful activities, developing links with statutory and community services.
 
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with a confident manner and will have the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will have demonstrable experience of working with young people with a range of support needs. Knowledge of young people’s rights and a clear understanding of professional boundaries is essential.
 
You must have 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) to include Maths and English.  Applicants must also possess a full driving licence, as travel to other Resettlement sites will be required. 
A Level 3 Diploma Qualification in Children and Young People’s workforce is essential for this role. However, we will financially support the right candidate to gain this qualification if it is not already held, once employed by BCH to meet our commitment to invest in, train and develop our staff and meet our Ofsted obligations.  
For effective service delivery in the 24-hour, 7 day a week provision, the successful candidate will be required to cover regular sleep-in duties, evening, weekend and bank holiday working, so flexibility is essential. 
 
Any offer of appointment will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as a CRB check).

Blackpool Coastal Housing was set up by Blackpool Council in 2007 to manage their housing stock of almost 5,000 properties. Our goal is to create an organisation that delivers quality services, right first time, within a culture that puts people at the heart of everything we do.

Our services include an Operations Service providing responsive repairs to our valued tenants, empty homes management and refurbishment/capital works across Blackpool.  Supported Housing; including supported living in Sheltered Schemes, Young People’s Resettlement Schemes including Care Leavers and Emergency Housing for those that find themselves homeless.  Our Care and Repair Service allows Blackpool residents to remain in their own homes through the Adaptations team providing the necessary aids/adaptations for this to be achieved.  The More Positive Together (MPT) and MPT Steps Programmes help provide support to local residents in accessing the employment market, as well as BCH providing typical Housing Service functions of Rents, Lettings, ASB and Neighbourhoods.
