We value social care in Manchester and we’re investing to increase our workforce.  We’d love experienced Social Workers on our journey.

Manchester City Council is investing over £11.4 million into Adult Services, and as part of this are creating permanent Social Worker roles in a variety of service areas. It’s based on the principles we really value in this city: putting people first, listening to what matters most to them, and supporting them to live better lives.  These ‘Our Manchester’ values build on all the strengths that already exist in our communities and work with people to create the city we all want for the future  This investment will improve the lives of our most vulnerable residents and ensure people in Manchester requiring Adults Social care can be as independent, well and happy as possible.

We are looking for experienced Social Workers who will be employed by Manchester City Council and deployed to the Manchester Local Care Organisation - the city’s pioneering new health and care organisation - working in integrated teams across NHS community health and mental health, primary care and social care to improve the lives of Manchester people.  The significant investment we have secured in Adults Social Care will ensure there continues to be a strong Adults Social Care focus and voice within our new exciting integrated arrangements.

Our roles offer the unique opportunity to be involved in an exciting transformation programme - utilising technology and new delivery models to transform how we work enabling residents to improve their independence and wellbeing. You’ll access innovative training and development and there are lots of opportunities to help shape our approach and become an early adopter.
