Salford is an ambitious, ever-changing city with an exciting future as a thriving cultural, economic, and residential location. A mixture of modern and historic, urban and countryside, There’s a real buzz around the place. From Media City, Salford Quays through to RHS Bridgewater – Salford has grown rapidly and there’s more to be done to help us reach our true potential.

As for you, you’re an inspirational lawyer who’s a proven leader, and you’re passionate about delivering strong outcomes within a complex organisation. Politically astute, you can work across boundaries, collaborating to get the job done.

Your command of law as it relates to local authorities is second to none. And you can clearly explain complex issues of law and democratic procedure to senior colleagues. Right now, you could be a practising solicitor, barrister, or a chartered legal executive.

Leading our democratic and governance services alongside the development and delivery of legal services through our shared legal service with Manchester, you’ll work with the directorate senior leadership team and as part of the wider leadership team, to deliver our ‘Great Eight’ priorities for a fairer, greener, and healthier Salford. Why not start by getting to know more about us

It really is no Salfordinary city.

It's no Salfordinary city - enjoy one of our best kept secrets - 60% of Salford is green space

Putting people at the heart of everything we do is how we do things here. We co-design services with the people who know most about what needs to change. Route29 is a great example of how our young people and key stakeholders have shaped our new approach to supporting young people in care or on the edge of care working as a ‘squad’ and using our innovative and people-centred ‘Salford Way’ change methodology.

Here is how we are structured across our mayoral team and senior leadership teams:

Diversity, inclusion, cohesion and fairness:

Our people are at the heart of delivering our vision for 'a better and fairer Salford for all' Salford is a place for everyone to thrive – a place where everyone cares and everyone counts and we are committed to creating 'a great place to work’.

We are passionate about making our city a welcoming, tolerant and thriving place to live, and an important foundation of that is ensuring everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their potential, whatever their background and life choices.

Take a look at our workforce equality, diversity and inclusion and our Salford equality and inclusion strategies.
