The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and well organised individual to join our refuse collection service as a Team Leader/Driver. 
 
Your responsibilities will include: 
 
• The safe operation of vehicles and undertaking the statutory vehicle checks. 
• The efficient and effective supervision of a close knit team that are collecting and removing recyclable material and waste from across Tameside. 
 
In addition to the standard 36 hour working week you will also be required to work an extra 6.25 hours per week to carry out daily driver duties relating to tip runs, statutory vehicle safety checks, fueling, cleaning the cab, washing the vehicle and cleaning the back of the refuse vehicle for which you will receive an additional payment.
 
About You
 
You will possess a clean LGV II licence and ideally have a recorded history of CPC and experience of driving LGV in delivering waste collection duties. You will also be able to plan, adjust and deliver a workload in line with service delivery requirements. 
 
It is essential that you can work in all weather conditions, use basic tools e.g. brush and shovel, undertake written and verbal instructions, be helpful, courteous and respectful to both customers and colleagues. You will also be expected to undertake significant amounts of walking, lifting and manoeuvring of full and empty waste collection receptacles. Experience of supervising staff is desirable.
