A unique opportunity has now arisen to lead the Compliance, Enforcement and Community Safety Function at Manchester City Council.

Effective regulation and keeping people safe is paramount to enabling a successful city.
 
As Head of Compliance, Enforcement and Community Safety you will be passionate about improving the city and be a key part in delivering clean, safe and vibrant neighbourhoods. You will use your leadership skills to address a wide range of challenges, be a strong influencer; working with a wide range of partner organisations and stakeholders to drive forward key priorities in this area of work and have experience of managing a number of diverse teams at any one time.
You will have knowledge and experience of relevant legislation and be politically astute, with experience of working with elected members being essential to the role. Actively listening to residents, businesses, staff and elected members will be key to driving improvements in performance across the wide range of services you will be responsible for.
 
You will be one part of a number of services based within the Neighbourhoods Directorate who are responsible for managing neighbourhoods in Manchester. The ability to collaborate and work with people to find solutions that support the city’s ambitions is key.

Working Hours: 35 Hours per Week/Full-Time

This role is subject to -

Driving Licence – you must always hold a full valid driving licence
 

Casual Car Documentation- The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.
